About me

My name is Aimee Snyder and I am a senior Elementary Education major at Albright College located in Reading, Pennsylvania. I will be graduating in May, 2012 with a degree in History as well as a certificate in Elementary Education.  During my time at Albright I have been a 4-year member of the Women's Swimming team, acting as captain in my senior season.  I have made Dean's List in 7 out of 8 semesters at Albright and have also been inducted as a Jacob Albright Scholar.

Outside of school I enjoy coaching my swim team.  I have been coaching the Laurel Run Blue Streaks for four years and love interacting with my swimmers ranging in ages 4-18.  Although it provides new challenges everyday, I feel as though it is preparing me for what it will be like in my own classroom. I am an avid swimmer and runner and love to keep busy by being active, reading, and baking.

I am devoted to teaching children in a way that not only ensures that they know the material, but also that brings excitement and fun into the classroom.  I am excited to have my own classroom one day and be able to challenge and support my students. To me, the best thing about teaching is seeing the smiles and the "lightbulb" moments when the students finally understand a concept. The greatest thing that I will ever experience is knowing that I have helped my students achieve success both in and out of the classroom.
