Bulletin Boards
I believe that bulletin boards should be colorful and appealing to the eyes of the students. I have included some examples of bulletin boards that I have created for my classes and student teaching placements. Most of my examples are interactive bulletin boards because I believe that it is important to give students as many opportunitites to learn as possible.
All Aboard!
This bulletin board was created to go along with a unit on the Underground Railroad. This interactive bulletin board gives the students the opportunity to practice vocabulary and the names of both important people and places dealing with the Underground Railroad. The questions are located around the outside of the bulletin board and must be matched the correct answers. The answer sheet is also included so the children can complete this individually and self-correct their responses.
Poppin' Prepositional Phrases
This bulletin board was created to allow students to practice using prepositional phrases in their writing. The bulletin board includes a list of prepositions and how they are used in sentences. The goal is for the students to write a sentence using the prepositional phrase that they pick out of the popcorn container. The students can use this phrase as the beginning or end of the sentence. There is a sentence strip and marker for the students to write their finished sentence.
Ropin' Up Great Work

This bulletin board was created to display student work during my student teaching placement. The students created these "Wanted" posters after reading a Junie B. Jones chapter book. Because they created "Wanted" posters, I made the bulletin board a western theme.
