Reading Lesson Examples

2nd Grade Reading lesson-

     This lesson plan is for a 2nd grade Reading lesson that was taught with the Reading Street program in the Reading School District. I have the lesson plan in a PDF file and it includes an introduction, the body of the lesson, and a wrap-up activity for the lesson.  The first link will be directed to the lesson plan and the second link is linked to a Power point presentation that was created to go with the lesson.

     During this lesson, the students read a story about soil. The story would have been previously introduced using vocabulary and concepts within the story. The standards, objectives, and materials are listed on the lesson plan and there are specific questions listed to match the pages in the book. This allowed for student interaction during the reading of the story. At the end of the lesson, the students were given a treat called "dirt" to help solidify their knowledge of this topic.
